About me
I am a qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist and hold an MSc Distinction qualification. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such I abide by their Ethical Framework.
On a more personal level, I am Me, Jade, a warm, loving individual with a lot to give. Counselling for me is more than a career, it is a vocation. I feel that it’s such a privilege to be a part of another’s journey towards growth and healing and to connect from a place of depth.
My Ways of Working
Even though I work predominantly as a person-centred therapist, I also use a variety of modalities dependant on the client such as IFS, CBT, Psychodynamic and TA.
I have a specific interest in working with transgenerational family issues which explore how patterns of thinking and behaviour are passed down through generations, influencing present-day issues.
I also have an deep interest in working with ‘parts’ of self to restore inner harmony and develop self-awareness. I feel that whilst protective parts can be our defence, they can also be our gateway to untangling many of our negative self-beliefs and reconnecting us to our core being.
I am passionate about bringing meditative and arts-based methods into the therapy space if clients feel drawn to this way of working. Some clients find these methods valuable when trying to connect to sensation rather than thought, emotion over intellect.
My journey
I began my therapeutic journey as a client at a time in my life where I felt quite lost, questioning my identity post loss and trauma, and feeling a deep sense of shame. Being able to face up to my own painful perceptions of myself and untangling my conditioning felt liberating and allowed me to reconnect with my own inner voice.
My experience has in turn given me a deep trust in the process of therapy, a trust that each client will find their way when offered the same unconditional, genuine warmth, empathy and non-judgemental acceptance that I was.
